Yeah, this is pretty depressing. They'll probably use the same excuse that Leno and Letterman are using - "We're just trying to get our Below the Line crew back to work."
Dave: From what I understand, Letterman is head and shoulders above Leno on this. Letterman owns his own show and is preparing to cut a separate deal with the writers -- something that actually splits the employers, and gets things closer to a pro-writer settlement. So the most notoriously "apolitical" of late-night talk show hosts may turn out to be the good guy in all of this -- we'll see if that holds up.
Leno's and O'Brien's shows, however, are owned by GE/NBC, and their decision to return to the air has the effect of weakening the strike. The same goes for Colbert and Stewart.
What fuckheads. It's not as if they're even hurting for money like a garden-variety scab. What were Viacom or NBC going to do, fire Jay Leno, Conan O'Brien, Colbert and Stewart? If any of these guys were in actual danger of losing their shows, then the statement they would have made by still refusing to cross the picketlines would have been priceless in its value, far exceeding the importance of any one more inane joke at the expense of Bush or Bill O'Reilly. Bullshit talks and solidarity walks.

When people are saying something, that you don’t like, don’t argue with them, just stop paying attention

Well I’m confused. I don’t know what’s the problem here. What’s wrong. At first I thought it looked really smart, but I’m not sure any more
